Performances
As a composer who loves the sound of real instruments, it is always rewarding to hear my music performed live. There is something special about hearing a piece come to life through the interpretation of the performer, bringing their own musicality and expression to the music.
It is a pleasure to work with talented musicians and to hear how they bring a piece to life through their performance.
One of the most rewarding parts of composing for live performance is hearing the music shared with an audience and experiencing their response.

Flute Sonata in C

In 2019, the debut performance of the 2nd movement of my Flute Sonata in C was performed beautifully by 'The Mirren Ensemble' for a memorial concert held in Yorkshire, UK.

Award Ceremony
for small orchestra
'Award Ceremony' was composed as a small orchestral work, especially for a University of Huddersfield promotional video featuring the graduation award ceremonies.

You can hear a brief demo clip of the orchestral version of ‘Award Ceremony’ in this video, created for my nephew Kyle Shead for his graduation ceremony who is also a notable first-class piper.
for solo piano
Concert pianist Elizabeth Wood gave an authentic solo piano performance of the 'Award Ceremony' at one of Aberdeen Universities' graduation ceremonies, which was well received.
